2010 campaign ads... "Ribbon Cutting"

I'm David Plouffe knows this... but I would make a series of political ads showing various Republicans at ribbon-cutting events for projects that were paid for by the Recovery Act.

Show them voting "no" on the Act... then show them at the events.

Those would be devastating ads.



Then the next set should be... clips of GOP congressmen speaking out in favor of tax cuts, pay-go, etc... then show them voting against those things.

1. Your suggestions are good ones. They will never be used, however.

To do so would take GUTS on the part of Democrats. At the first sign of outrage on the right, those ads would be pulled immediately and apologies issued!

5. Yeah, why does it need to be a campaign ad?

A viral video from a show like Countdown or Rachel Maddow or The Daily Show is much cheaper, and people are more likely to believe it. It will have that ring of authenticity that a campaign ad can never have because, well, people know it's a campaign ad.
