Blanche Lincoln Calls Environmentalists Extremists

(Calling the League of Conservation Voters "extremist" is akin to saying the same about the AFL-CIO. In doing so, Lincoln has indelibly branded herself as an extremist, and an enemy of core Democratic values. - promoted by Paul Rosenberg)

Crossposted from BlueArkansasBlog.com

I was really hoping that my next post would be a positive one. Unfortunately, Blanche Lincoln has made that impossible by calling the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) an "extremist" group.

The LCV named Blanche Lincoln as one of their "Dirty Dozen" who are not standing up for the environment in Washington.

Politico
LCV gave the moderate Democrat a lifetime score of 49 percent on environmental issues, the second lowest for any Democrat up for reelection this year.
"Most regrettable is the fact that Sen. Lincoln is walking away from her previous support for climate legislation - and given the scope, urgency and magnitude of this issue, she has more than earned a spot on LCV's Dirty Dozen," said Gene Karpinski, LCV president.

Blanche Lincoln used this as an opportunity to move further to the right and attack liberals and environmentalists as outside special interests. ...........(more)

1. Yeah, Because Conserving the Environment is Terrorism

You know what Blanche, I think people like you who allow others to destroy for just profit, are terrorists. Because as a matter of FACT, your actions to allow the destruction of nature has a direct and indirect impact on ALL LIFE.

2. Well, actually it is
...at least according to the latest CIA produced Osama Bin Emanuel Goldstein video. Rumor is they're working on a full movie called "An Inconvenient Jihad".

5. Dead Senator Walking
You won't have Lincoln to kick around much longer. From all the polls I've seen she's dead meat, in the general election if she even makes it that far. I think I saw on Daily Kos that the Dems have no chance whatever of retaining this seat if she is the nominee.

She thinks kissing the wing nuts ass is gonna save her but she's going totally in the wrong direction. She faces a credible challenge in the Dem primary from the Lt Gov. who can make a lot of claims to progressive programs. IIRC he was a central player in the free health care clinic that was promoted on Countdown.

Lincol won't be any loss but it would be nice to replace her with an actual Democrat.

6. Even a senator who votes Democratic some of the time is better than one who's guaranteed to obstruct
Just sayin'. I do agree that it would be great for her to lose in the primary and have a real Democrat win the seat.

9. I hate to say it, but she has lost my vote---period. I would rather see a
repug in her seat. I'm sick of her and Pryor and my great rep Mike Ross. They have lost my vote unless they "rise from the dead". Sorry. The Republicans can solve the problems if they "take over". If they don't they'll pay with their seats as well.
