Barney Frank did NOT vote for IWR
This has to be set straight because another thread here highlighting Frank's comments on how war spending helped put us in this mess, was being undercut by claims he voted "for the war". He most certainly did not.

Please review the IWR roll call below, specifically the Democratic part.

1. You want people to stop posting something simply because it's not true?

I'm not sure if that's how politics works.

3. You're right. And it always amazes me that
not only do the wingnuts constantly gloss over that fact, if not outright lie about it ("Democrats voted for war too!"), but so many Democrats would be so ignorant about it as well.

5. The Confusion Might Come From Almost All Dem Presidential Candidates Voting For It
Clinton, Dodd, Kerry, Edwards, Biden etc.

8. Well then make that specific charge
and stop conflating it with the false premise that "Democrats voted for the war". That's all I'm asking. A little truth in advertising.

4. Thank you.
I was just trying to look that up, and this thread came up on Google when I typed in "IWR Roll Call". I didn't think he had voted for it, bu...well, silly me, I wanted to be sure before I posted that.

6. Thanks. I didn't see the other thread, but he most certainly didn't vote for the war.
Hell, I love the guy even when I totally disagree with him (which isn't very often).

11. That has nothing to do with Frank's war vote
although it probably deserves its own thread.

14. You're right, it has nothing to do with the war vote. (I didn't claim it did, did I.)

On edit: I was responding to another poster (whom I tend to like a lot, btw), whose comment said:

"I love the guy even when I totally disagree with him (which isn't very often)".

12. No, but it's not a surprise.
And I hope you'll understand if I don't pour through all 1,200 pages tonight.

This is one of my areas of trouble with Frank, though I do believe he means well. He is very bank friendly, which is why this is not surprising. But it's Jan 31st and I have $3 to my name, so what do I know about finances? I don't say that so much to give him a pass, but my own lack of economic knowledge can't be ignored either. ;)
