Uncle Jim left us this morning.
He was in agony. He waited for his son who squeezed in 40 hours of work in 3 days so he could drive down to be with his father for the weekend. His son left Thursday morning from Iowa and arrived in Louisiana late last night. Uncle Jim waited for his boy. A final act of selflessness in his thoughtful and compassionate life.

It was a joy to know him.

The family is devastated.

1. He waited
yes, I know that this happens. Just shows how unselfish he was. His suffering is now over, and you have this last act to remember him by. If you are a believer, know that he is at peace. May his family find peace, too.

23. I don't want to respond individually but...
thanks so much.

Such a wonderful man. Worked so hard and put his boy through college. The first college graduate within our entire family. Took such great care of my aunt. Oh, and he loved his grandchildren, all 5 which are under the age of 12. He was only 62 years old. All he wanted to do was watch the children play.

What a great loss for the earth.

31. My deepest sympathy.
I burst into tears reading this. It made me think of my aunt harriet, also my godmother, when she passed away. She did the same thing with one of her kids, except one of the kids couldn't get to her bedside, so they held a phone to her ear and she heard her daughters voice telling her it was okay to go. She died a minute later.

Looking at her you would think she couldn't understand a spoken word.
