I have been a little busy lately and have not been able to keep up. I get the impression we need a real show to move anything.

1. The people most in need are hardly likely to be able to march.
And the others think they have time. THIS ISN'T THE SIXTIES. You want to show support? Raise millions for the candidates and organizations that stand with us. Do that with the bus fares and the road tolls.

3. Give me a few weeks notice and I will be there for a weekend event. BUT---
I have suggested this several times here and I get the same response: "That's so Sixties, dude!"

Frankly, I think that's just an excuse for laziness. It is easier to post online than it is to risk cold, rain, knuckle-dragger counter-protesters and, if its a really big crowd, having to risk being photographed with a few tattooed, pierced and doobie-smokin' Democrats. And, of course, there is always the risk that you'll show up and be part of a 2,000 person "crowd". Been there, done that.

But, anyone who thinks a wall to wall national mall wouldn't be a powerful image in support of health care is in denial and, like I said, just basically too lazy to be bothered with actually putting some skin in the game.

4. If there is, let's hope ANSWER isn't organizing it.
Regardless of the stated purpose of a rally, if ANSWER is running it, half the speeches will be on off-message topics, e.g., "Free Mumia!" "Free Leonard Peltier!" "Free Tibet!"

It's really pathetic that so much CSPAN coverage of DC anti-Iraq War demonstrations was wasted in this way.
