Ex-Klan wizard's son sues Palm Beach County GOP for party seat
WEST PALM BEACH — The son of a former Ku Klux Klan grand wizard on Wednesday sued the Palm Beach County Republican Party, asking a judge to force it to seat him on the party's executive committee. Although Derek Black captured roughly 60 percent of the votes in the August 2008 primary election, the party refused to let him assume the post. It claims he failed to sign a loyalty oath.

In the lawsuit filed in Palm Beach County Circuit Court, Black claims the party changed the deadline about when such oaths have to be signed but didn't publish the new rules.

Party leaders have said the rule change was publicized. Black has said he is not a white supremacist but rather "a white person who is concerned about discrimination against white people."

While Black's dispute with the GOP has centered on party rules and procedures, it has attracted larger attention because he's the son of former Grand Wizard Don Black and a close associate of former Klan leader David Duke.

Black has also engineered radio broadcasts for his father's "White Pride World Wide" Internet site and spoke at a 2008 conference promoting "the rights and heritage of European Americans."

2. Son of KKK grand wizard didn't sign repub party "loyalty oath"?!
Uh, yeah, something...can't quite...er, nope, I got nuthin'.

There's a punch line or something there but my brain's stuck in an endless loop; KKK, repub, loyalty oath. KKK, repub, loyalty oath. KKK, repub, loyalty oath. KKK, repub, loyalty oath. KKK, repub, loyalty oath.

4. 60% of the vote, huh?
I thought someone like him would get a higher percentage for a committee seat.

8. I'm still trying to process "white Michael Jackson"
It's kind of like when the vending machine won't take you dollar bill. It's just not working for me.

9. What could possibly be wrong about this?
Seems like the most natural thing for the Republicans to be doing, having white supremacists on their party steering committees and county board.
