Ben Stein owes half of America (at least) an apology
I'm sorry to be late to the party with this, but I have been out all day doing errands and then night school. Just another typical lazy Dem, according to Ben Stein. If I am reading this correctly (the CNN health care summit coverage thread), Ben Stein was on CNN and said something to the effect that Democrats don't pay taxes, and don't have jobs (sneer....). What the hell was he doing giving commentary on health care anyway......

Just how does he get away with insulting half the country? It seems to me that any time a celebrity insults repubs in a big public way, they are "forced" to make apologies.

I WANT MY APOLOGY YOU BIG FUCKWIT BEN STEIN.....

1. I missed that, but in all honesty I probably missed it because I was yelling at him
for whatever stupid thing he said before he said that.

Ben looked like he was going to bust a vein. I've never wanted someone to have a TIA live on the air before but it crossed my mind today.

12. Good for you!
I like to think that people like me who emailed and snail mailed CNN about Glenn Beck helped get him off CNN. I like to think it made a difference.

5. Good luck with that
I'm still waiting for my apology from when he said people who accept evolution are like Nazis.

Why, WHY does anyone pay attention to that sack of crap?

9. I need the exact quote
so far, I find this:

"I think the answer is the a much higher percentage of Republicans are taxpayers than Democrats, and the Republicans are the people who are gonna be paying for it and the Democrats are gonna be the people receiving it...But as a general matter, Republicans as a group pay income tax at a much higher rate than Democrats"

That does not say that "no Democrats pay taxes".

But he also equates "taxes" with "income taxes" So why concern himself that I paid over $1,000 in FICA taxes last year?

14. Then is he insinuating bigotry? Code for poor people? As in blacks, hispanics, etc
as non-taxpayers? Unimportant & unworthy citizens?

That's sounds like his reference.

He wants to play that game, then why should we fight wars? Those with any semblance of wealth don't get their hands dirty. It's those poor people he refers to that lay their lives on the line. Shedding their blood, their hopes and dreams. Shattering families.

Shame on Stein. Shame on CNN.

It's one thing if he were on a comedy tour, but quite another when giving commentary on a news show on such an important and serious matter as health care.
