2. Good.
I have never understood why people kill wild animals when they act like wild animals. Hey humans: keeping wild animals in captivity does NOT domesticate them. They are still wild animals.

6. I think the public fails to understand that people who work with wild animals understand the risk
Anyone who works with wild animals knows the risks. I admire all who work with wild animals and hope to work with them someday too.

7. It goes deeper than that . . .
. . . in the wild, Orca's don't kill people; no recorded instances of that at all. The closest was when a surfer was roughed up a bit and then let go - probably mistaken for a seal. It's only when they are locked up in tiny tanks, forced to perform for their food, placed into forced contact with humans, that the flip and do this. I might do the same myself given those circumstances.

8. We could start tossing teabaggers into the pool.
Tied to ropes. Like real teabags.

11. Well, why should they? He was kept captive and is a wild animal.
I don't think he should ever perform again. In fact, they should never do shows again with killer whales. But of course, that would cut into profits.

12. You mean, of course, Tilikum, the orca.
Killer whale is a prejudicial term, implying that "of COURSE he killed the trainer - he's a KILLER WHALE!"

I think we need to save such appellations for truly dangerous species - like Killer Bees.

13. Why should they?
It was acting like a wild animal because it is a wild animal. I don't understand the mentality of people who think they can domesticate animals that shouldn't be domesticated.
