The fence posts wear marshmallow hats
On a snowy day:
Bushes in their nightgowns
Are kneeling down to pray -
And all the trees have silver skirts
And want to dance away

So we looked it up on the net. Her mother used it as a school teacher around 1931. So it's an oldie.

The giant snow plows rumbling past
On a snowy day:
Bumper cars on black ice
will skate off the freeway
and sit in gray exhaust fume mounds
I wish would go away


I've had enough by now ;)
