A law we can all get behind!
I propose we outlaw electronic phone answering. How many hours have you lost trying to navigate these electronic phone menus trying to get to a real human being? It seems we lost a serious quality of life once these became popular. If my phone rings and there's a recording on the other end, I hang up immediately. Robo-calls? I have never listened to one. I hang up. If you don't have the decency to speak to me mano y mano, I'm not listening to your shit. Period.

How many jobs have been lost due to this? I say this is one place companies should bite the bullet and spend the bucks. Don't agree? Speak to the hand!

2. If you think I feel like talking to everyone who calls me you're fucking nuts
Sometimes I do.

Sometimes I don't.

That's what my answering machine is for.

So I can find out what the fuck they want before I decide if I feel like having a conversation with them.

So, no we can't all get behind that dumbass law you've just proposed.

3. Uh oh.....
...didn't think about personal answering machines. I was railing against those commercial menus that toggle you around in circles and never give you an option to speak to a human....during operating hours.

6. Dude, do a search on the Internet on how to find a live human being at any corporation
Corporate answering machines are designed to weed out having to talk to people who are too stupid to look up basic information on the Internet.

What are your hours?

What's the menu?

Do you take checks?

Do I sound harsh? Well maybe I've spent too much of my day talking to idiots since the place I work for doesn't use those systems.

5. no, we can't
just because something annoys you (or most people) does not mean the solution is PASS A LAW.

we need LESS govt. interference in our lives and freedoms . not more.

and clearly, this is an annoyance that is easy to deal with. hang up.

fwiw, it also would significantly affect the bottom line (iow profit margin) of many businesses.
