Clinton had to pass his budget bill with tax increases on the wealthy with NO VOTES FROM THE GOP. Al Gore passed the deciding vote. Thats how we do it! Best employoment record up to in modern times and the economy raised all ships.

When the Federal government did well by raising revenues, state and local governments did well too with the aid they received from the government. Now schools are being closed, teachers fired, road and bridges are falling apart...and all because the GOP has been successful in getting folks to hate their own government...which happens to pay the salaries and healthcare for the GOP congress-critters. Go figure.
