1. A very interesting site...
It really puts the amount of money in perspective well.

Unfortunately, what we COULD have had is one thing, what they WOULD have spent it on is something else. There is no doubt in my mind that even without the war, the people of my own home state wouldn't have gotten free health care, 2.6 million scholarships, or 366K elementary school teachers.

There's about 2000 people in Alaska who would have gotten a bridge, I'll bet.

The thing about the original post is you can plug in different variables, locale, money spent on "X" that could have been spent on "Y"... for instance what how much spent on IRAQ could have done for your community in hiring - say - teachers.
