MARJAH, Afghanistan — One by one, residents of Marjah stood up before Afghan officials Monday to voice complaints — their houses damaged, relatives killed during this month’s massive military offensive in southern Afghanistan.

An Afghan government delegation from Kabul, headed by Vice President Karim Khalili, made its initial foray to the town to meet with some 300 tribal elders and residents at the largest shura, or council meeting, since coalition troops seized control of Marjah last month.

NATO military commander Gen. Stanley McChrystal and civilian chief Mark Sedwill came along . . .

“The most important thing is to bring peace and stability to the people in Afghanistan,” Khalili told the residents. “This is a promise. ... It’s our priority to talk to each other. But others want to prevent this. We will not allow them to keep people hostage again. This is a beginning in Marjah. We will be with you. We will stay and fight. We will bring you good governance.”

But the townspeople appeared skeptical — and some were angry . . .

3. "We will be with you. We will stay and fight. We will bring you good governance.”
Then they all got back into their helicopter and left. In the meantime, do as these soldiers tell you to do or you will be killed. We sure are better then the Taliban.

They can't even see their own BS for what it is.

6. Where are the forklifts
stacked with cash? That seems to be the prevailing wisdom. If we bribe the locals, they will remain loyal to our rule and the rule of their corrupt government. At least until that money runs out. At least until we leave and they can resume their civil war.

Remember our local war historian has proclaimed thus:

"...The standard doctrine stated that the increased troops would have simply caused the insurgents to relocate or lay low until the surge was over. However the wholesale use of brides proved to be an effective way to pull support from an insurgency and isolate and weaken them. The same surge plus bribes strategy may work in Afghanistan..." Bertie Wooster's "Thoughts on Afghanistan," and other miscarriages in the history of warfare, dated 01/08/10.

Mission Accomplished!

On to Kandahar!

USA! USA! USA!

Making Afghanistan safe for Democracy one corpse at a time.

Just my dos centavos

7. We are going to " bring peace and stability to the people in Afghanistan,"
...whether you want it or not, American Style,
and anyone who gets is OUR way WILL be killed.
Go ask the villagers at Fallujah.
Hahahahahahahahaha!

The Obama Administration is working hard to hide behind the "NATO" label, like it isn't the USA who is behind all the killings and destruction. Thats a HOOT.
The entire WORLD KNOWS that the hostile occupation of Afghanistan is a completely American Enterprise, Democrats & Republicans....a totally "bi-partisan" consensus.

Meet Hamid Karzai
or as Obama calls him, "The Government of Afghanistan".

He was appointed by Bush the Lesser to run Afghanistan.
He is one of the most despicable criminals in The World,
But NOW we like him so much
that our children fighting and dying in the deserts of Afghanistan to keep him in power.
