A Couple Of Comments & Observations On Bunning And Filibuster Use....... |
|
The other day I suggesting make Jim Bunning the "poster child" for filibuster abuse. Rub the Regressive's (formerly Repug's) nose in it.
Seems to me that Bunning has given the Dems a great campaign issue for both 2010 and 2012 to use against the Regressive's. The Dems need to make sure that they capitalize on what Bunning is doing and cast the shadow over all Regressive's (formerly Repug's).
I'm guessing that Bunning knows this and is pissed that the Regressive's (formerly Repug's)don't support him and that is why he is doing this - to get back at them for dropping him. I think that their is a good chance that the Dems can pick up that Senate seat.
Also why don't the Dems use Specter (now a D) to call out the Regressive's (formerly Repug's) on this reconciliation thing? Seems to me that because Specter was one of them and voted with them using reconciliation that he might carry some credibility if he said something like - 'wait a minute guys when I was one of you we used reconciliation for a number of votes. I voted for reconciliation then and it's my right as a Senator to vote for reconciliation now.'
Any chance that something like this could work or at least be picked up by the cable media?
