The woman who got up on the Senate floor and intoned in drop-dead seriousness that when contradicta was up for Secretary of State after having been glaringly inadequate as National Security Advisor (9/11 happened on HER watch, too), someone's past track record on a job should have no bearing on whether they're fit for their next job.

My jaw dropped at that one when I saw her spout that one on CSPAN - and I'm STILL stunned by it.

BTW, Bill White is the very popular former mayor of Houston (termed out) who welcomed Katrina evacuees with open arms. He did himself a lot of good because Texans got to feel magnanimous about it which is something we love to do.
