Evil surrounds us.A Tavares man has been charged with two counts of aggravated child abuse after he admitted to repeatedly abusing a 2-month-old baby girl, Lake County authorities say.
Robert Andrew Young, 23, admitted hurting the child after she was taken to Leesburg Regional Medical Center because she was "continuously crying," according to the girl's mother.
Hospital X-rays showed the infant had multiple rib fractures — at least four — according to Young's arrest affidavit.

Young later told deputies that he squeezed the child's chest with both hands wrapped around it about two times a week for roughly one month. He said he squeezed the child's chest hard enough to cause injury an estimated seven to 10 times, the report says.

Young also admitted "to bending the infant's fingers backwards and also bending the infant's wrist downward until the infant cried," the report states. Young also said he pinched and squeezed the girl's toes and fingers to make her cry and told deputies he wrenched the girl's arm behind her back.
Young said "he did these things because the infant would not sleep and he had noticed that when the child gets really agitated she goes to sleep so he wanted to agitate her so she would fall asleep," according to the affidavit. He later acknowledged that behavior did not make sense.
He also told detectives he pushed down on the child's abdomen to make her have a bowel movement.
Finally, Young said he knew he was hurting the child and knew he needed to stop but was afraid to say anything about his behavior out of fear he would be thought of as a "monster" for hurting the infant. <end snip>
