Just over a year ago, Michael Moore vigorously campaigned for President Obama and the Democratic Party. But watching them jettison the public option from health care legislation appears to have been the final straw.

"These Democrats are a bunch of wusses," Moore told Raw Story in a hard-edged interview Wednesday. "They don't have the courage of their convictions. They won't stand and fight."

Health care is a uniquely important issue for the liberal filmmaker, whose 2007 documentary "Sicko" explored the heartbreaks and inequities in the US health care industry. He says he's fed up with the Democrats' reticence to take on insurance companies.

"It's embarrassing, it's disgusting and I won't have it anymore," he told Raw Story, mocking them in a baby's voice. "I'm sick of them."

There WAS a time when I stood and fought and fought and fought, but now I'm SICK and TIRED of feeling like a "lone wolf" when it comes to far to many fellow citizens!

HOWEVER, Obama has NOT been a good leader IMO, he has seemed overly conciliatory and it also has made him look weak to me. And I'm beginning to see MSM pick up on this much more!! His call about HCR sounds like he's drawing a line in the sand, but this is after giving away too much to Big Pharma, and Health Insurance Companies!

So it's a start, but NAFTA was supposed to be a start too... and LOOK HOW WELL THAT HAS WORKED!! They said they would re-visit, but have YET to do so! What makes ANYONE think HCR is going to be re-visited any time soon??

Frustration abounds, and I COMPLETELY understand where Moore is coming from! He's done a LOT of homework and made some fabulous movies about what is going on, can't take that away from him! I don't think anyone can argue he hasn't. Perhaps if he looked like Brad Pitt he would sell much better, but he doesn't... still I side with Moore and applaud his efforts!

102. Thanks For the Reply... I Have My Squirrels To Keep Me Happy Almost

every day. Having raised so many they give me immense joy and I LOVE watching them after I feed them a daily does of nuts, etc. Plus I have 2 chocolate labs that are my children as well. I have always loved playing tennis and staying active outdoors, but had a bad accident and my back has been compromised and made it unable for me to play my favorite game!

But I understand where you're coming from, still politics is my addiction even when I know it's become much too stressful! So much so that it has kept me awake at nights! I'm aware what I SHOULD do about it, but like an alcoholic I keep reaching for my "fix!"

Given where I live, there are many outlets for me! I live very close to the Gulf of Mexico, I can ride a bike up the road and plop myself on the sand, and I have put that on my "bucket list" of sorts. I just need to follow through! I MUST realize I no longer can make that much difference and all my complaints and anxieties aren't doing much good anyway!

And yes, Michael Moore is ONE of the GOOD ONES, and one who has been in the trenches and worked harder than many!

been feeding the squirrels and birds all winter. Just yesterday two squirrels were frolicking about in a romantic way and I declared: Spring has sprung. A few robins have shown up as well.

I, too, am addicted to Politics. I simply have to know what is going on so I can plan accordingly. Even as a kid in the 2nd grade, I campaigned for Kennedy! My best friend and I got into fights...she was for Nixon. I remember election night and begging to stay up for the results.

I wish I had a body of water nearby...I used to live in San Fran Bay Area and the Pacific Ocean was such a source of relief and energy.

I have a 17 year-old cat, Joe, named after Joe Montana. I don't care for football anymore but those days of w/ Joe and the 49ers were fun.

My love was dance...but bad knees allow only careful dancing. But I powerwalk which feels great.

104. Well My Addiction Began When I Was 11 & As a Boomer I've Seen

some very heady times. Obviously I'm older than you, but SALT WATER is VERY comforting for many things that ail you!!

We've had the COLDEST winter since '81 down here, and I SERIOUSLY doubt I could even MANAGE an Ohio winter!!

I DID manage a trip to San Fran last year and LOVED it! Even though we didn't plan it around the Iraq War Demonstration, it just so happened that there was a March at that time! Given where I live and how RED this place is, it was INVIGORATING to be among SOOOOOOOOOOOO many like minded people who marched! A big march here would consist of maybe 100 people, 200 if it was something serious!

I LOVED my walk across the Golden Gate Bridge though... had a brace on my one knee because of a torn meniscus and took a couple of prescribed pain meds and did very well!! Now those HILLS, I did attempt them three or four times and said ENOUGH! But we did walk from downtown all the way to PCH! Now, I'm NOT trying to put CA beaches down, but where I live... this county has the WHITEST beaches in the world, and I was shocked at how gray/brown the sand was at PCH!

But I'd go back in a nanno!! If the economy ever recovers enough, it's a trip to Oregon for me!! Don't know why, but the place looks BEAUTIFUL! Never been to Ohio, but had a friend from up there and there's some very nice scenery there too, and some GREAT food from what she's told me!

Sorry, got so off topic here... but my squirrels have been around all winter, but it's Florida and I've really spoiled them! Good luck with your budding Spring! It's still cold here today for us, but it's really Spring. I think it's about 65, but 75 will be here this week-end!

107. Actually this winter wasn't so bad.....

imho. Lots of snow...a record in fact. But it came in phases so when the snow started to look dirty, another layer would appear. At night everything was so bright because of white ground covering. It didn't go below 20 degrees too often. That's when I get cold.

And since it's an election year, the roads were cleared in a timely fashion so I didn't feel inconvenienced at all. But my car is sooooooo dirty.

I'm hot blooded so summer is tough on me.

I don't know why anyone would like the food in Ohio...lots of corn and good garden veggies in the summer. Lots of restaurant chains...ugh. I rarely go out to eat...even the Chinese restaurants have been Americanized for Midwest folks. The only pretty part of Ohio is the Southeastern hilly area...and maybe Cincinnati. Otherwise, pretty flat. Fall is pretty...especially when there has been a rainy summer.

I was surprised by the beaches in CA as well. My aunt lives in Orlando so I'd go down there for spring break and head to Daytona. I loved that beach. CA's coast is more rocky and rugged...and designed for those who don't like suntans...or sunburns, in my case.

San Fran was fabulous...never cold, rarely hot. I was very lucky to be there during the Raygun and Bush years. Otherwise, I might have gone nuts.

I guess I'm a later Baby Boomer....born in 1953. And I loved the '60's. I miss them.

And while I melt during the summers here, would rather be here than there. Living on the west coast is preferable than the east coast, at least for me.

Politics here suck, but I LOVE my little community which has some VERY GOOD Democratic neighbors. Our little pocket is amazingly Democratic... go a little further North down South, fugeddaboudit!! It's so horribly RED and even MOST Democrats would be considered DLC types.

While I worked with them a lot, I've had to stop for the most part because I'm more to the left and what I brought to the table was weird to them. They wanted my volunteerism, but NONE of my ideas!

But, living so close to the Gulf and not in huge homes that are all around us, we are a close knot group of middle class people who are trying hard to get by, some have lost their homes, but for the most part many have been here 20 years or more, and most of us are of the same age group who lend a hand when needed. I'm thankful that we bought our home 24 years ago and can KEEP it! Or so it seems unless something HORRIBLE HORRIBLE happens, but "most" of us here are doing okay, even though there have been some foreclosures! Florida has been hit very hard, and a good friend of mine just DUMPED a very large home that they put about $100.000.00 into for about $175,000.00! They paid $300,000.00 for it and he decided to open a Ci-Ci's franchise and it was PURE bad timing!

But they are doing okay, her mother passed away and left them her house, but they moved away from here which distressed them because they LOVED it here!

I believe I read that FL's unemployment was around 14%. Nevada, Arizona, and CA...very sad. But Michigan and Ohio have been dealing with a Recession/Depression for years. MI has more oomph...trying to get the filming industry located there which I think is a super idea.

Ohio hasn't had an original thought in years. I've written the Gov. about Industrial Hemp...but to no avail. I guess we will now discuss Medical Marijuana. But Hemp could be a huge industry. After all Ohio is 55% agriculture. Gotta keep growing all the 'corn fructose syrup.'

He has been one of my favorite authors since I was just a kid.

I picked up a biography of Alice Roosevelt, Teddy's daughter. In it, she explains how she wasn't allowed to read "Little Women" because the writing in that book was considered so poorly done.

MArk Twain was criticized too. He was, after all, one of the middling class, and hardly one to instruct the blue bloods on how to live their lives.

But his tales had so much humor, and his truths were so awesome, that the blue bloods of that era still read him. Perhaps secretly, but he had a way of getting them to want his message.

The only solution to the ever-deepening corruption in this country to is throw out the capitalist economic system and create an economic system that puts human needs, not profits, as its first priority.
