People can still rec or unrec, but it appears the number of unrecs can never drop below zero, like it used to before....i.e. > 0

So if someone posts a topic and then someone else comes along half a second later and gives it an unrec, it will still show "0" and that's the end of the "wahhh wahhh...WHO UNREC'D MY TOPIC???? Those goddamn unrec trolls!!! Blah blah blah" stuff.

So unless someone is sitting there keeping score all day long ("Hmmm...my recs WERE +35 an hour ago, but now they're down to +30") nobody is going to know how many unrecs someone got, and nobody is going to be publicly embarrassed by having > 0 recs.

Hopefully that will bring an end to the endless kvetching about rec/unrec. :)

At least, of the unrec feature goal really was to shut out specific points of view from higher visibility, then its been a failure. If you write well enough and you're passionate enough, people reward that passion by out-reccing the unrec army.

Thus honest, reality-based posts about the state of our political and economic system still make it to the greatest page.

By the way Echo, do you know that you can also view threads by "Most unreccomented" or "Hottest" (which means threats with the most combination of recs AND unrecs) and also "most debated" (threads with recs and unrecs right about a 50/50 split.

So I'm not sure if its a grand conspiracy as much as it was some poor implementation.
