Berks County, PA Tea Party head says census may cause constitutional crisis
because it counts "illegals" along with citizens, and thus "diminishes my vote". Link here;

http://www.wfmz.com/news/22733809/detail.html

If there is nothing real happening, they make shit up...and many believe them.

2. Don't they want to know how many are illegal? That would be my retort...
they also count prisoners in state, local & federal facilities, those in hospitals & nursing homes, people w/o mental faculties. It says all people, our representation is based on all the people not some of the people. Silly teabaggers its time to come up for air.

3. The only thing that "diminishes" their vote is their lack of critical thinking skills

5. Democrats were making gains in Berks
This past year, outside of Reading, that trend has evaporated.

7. Seems like the "religious" people in the small towns are against
Obama - the usual "kenya" bullshit - mostly racism and general dumbass. Hard to believe around here, I know....

8. Alot of those assholes in the small town voted for him in 2008

Something else is going on.

I don't assume these Tea Bagger nut jobs voted for him, but the last series of local elections in Berks, did not go our way outside of Reading in 2009, and the polling does not look good for democrats in the 2010 statewide or federal elections.

There was an article about it about two weeks ago.

11. I think the Baggers made inroads with the "religious" jerks, which we have
Edited on Thu Mar-04-10 11:55 AM by old mark
in abundance, all types. Some people I used to work with felt it was their "religious" obligation to vote against Democrats because of things like Darwin, abortion, godless "socialism",etc. I think a lot of the '08 voting was against McCain, rather than for Obama - they though tMcCain was a liberal, didn't think commie Obama would win anyway.
I have no proof of this, just my opinion....

But you know how they are around here - 1 original thought and a cold drink of water would kill half of them.

They have generally better survival skills and common sense than people in the Lehigh Valley.

My cousin who is a teacher is pissed off about the education reform going through, and my other who is a farmer is pissed at the agriculture policy that favors Agribusiness.

13. Jake, I'm FROM the Lehigh Valley....
That's why I moved here. Much of Berks is almost progressive compared to Allentown, judging by the way it was 20 years ago when I left.

14. We've talked before
I'm here because Lucent/Western Electric/At&T was here and that is where my father worked.

Personally I prefer the people in the Hamburg area to my neighbors in the Lehigh Valley.

I also prefer the people of Northampton smaller cities to the people in Bethlehem and Allentown and their immediate suburbs.

9. Idiots. There are several different counts.
That doesn't effect redistricting.

15. i'm sure illegals are going to step right up to be counted. (not)
you can count them by those who do not return their forms . . . or will they even get one? how is the mailing list compiled, anyway?

if the teabaggers don't want to be counted in the census . . . good for us! i think bachmann has finally figured that out . . . or her objections were strictly political. nah, she wouldn't be THAT craven. :eyes:
