AOL is RW Trash!
Edited on Thu Mar-04-10 02:11 PM by nyc 4 Biden

I'm so sick of this website pushing the RW agenda. I only use my AOL email when I think I am going to get spammed but there is always some RW meme plastered all over their site. If you read on, this article isn't nearly as bad as the junk they usually have up but the title clearly reveals AOL's agenda. I think they are misinforming a large swath of Americans with their propaganda, but most especially older people. IMO many AOL users are older folks because AOL was their first email account and they never bothered to change it.

I guess I'm just stating the obvious but sometimes I see people sourcing AOL and Politico w/o qualifying that these are RW outlets.

P.S. - The comment section is even worse than the articles, but I guess that is always the case when there is no IQ minimum to play keyboard commentator.

16. That's because the only people who still use AOL are blithering idiots.
Seems to be sort of an overlap there.

3. LOL...AOL had McCain winning Illinois...I think they had him winning all the states.
That's their online poll, BTW.

Who the hell uses AOL anymore?

6. there is a reason we call them ao-hell. many years ago, my computer had that crap on it--as did
a friend' computer (wayyyyy back) friend called me up, outraged, to tell me that he had just gotten a call from ao-hell, daring to question him about some things on his hard drive. he politely asked them to explain how they knew what was on his hard drive, which they didn't answer. we noticed that ao-hell was frequently downloading stuff--stuff you couldn't find later. it took three attempts before we were able to get ao-hell off our computers.

oh, and a little known fact--ao-hell has its own filtering system (their own version of net nanny)-if you use it, the entire web is NOT available to you. at one point, years ago, it was impossible, for example, to find information on breast cancer, or to access sites that had, for example, a webmistress rather than a webmaster.

may they rot.

14. I dunno lol.
I dropped them in 1999 to upgrade to high speed & never looked back. My dial-up connection on AOL would get dropped a lot, their service sucked.

10. AOL has long served the fascist agenda - Bush cronies at Kingdom Holdings also used it to
gain large portion of shares of TimeWarner/CNN.

11. AOL has long been recognized as heavily RW
and, yes, a viable reason that so many liberals or Democrats still keep the aol.com addresses is to direct SPAM to them when signing up for certain website's offerings, knowing full well that a lot of junk will be attached to the email offering.

They are very good as a SPAM deposit. Their politics don't interest me in the least.

I've kept my original AOL email from (gasp) the mid 1990's and use it all the time when signing up for something I know will include masses of SPAM. My other email accounts are for serious information and personal communications.

15. It is a "risky health bill"
It is politically risky, which is how I read that headline. But I see that more people read the headline as "risky to health".

Didn't read the original article so I don't know what was meant.
