Why is DU running ads for Toomey??

I'm in PA so maybe that's why I'm seeing so many of them, targeting me via IP. but whoever is doing the ad buys for Toomey is really targeting the wrong audience. so at least we can be glad they're wasting a lot of money.

Not to get on the DU admin folks too much, they're probably getting the ads from a service and aren't really aware what's running so much.

But Heads UP!

this is the kind of crap that is showing up at the top of my DU window daily!

this one today was the proverbial last straw. absolutely disgusting political ad.



its one thing to give all points of view a fair hearing, another to take money for displaying ageist propaganda.

also anyone in PA,I humbly request that you email the above ad to Toomey and ask if he will publicly support such a depiction of his opponent.

(not that I love Specter or anything, but this deserves serious blowback)

4. No you don't - just report them to the admins.

If they are inappropriate, they will be blocked. If no one bothers to report the offensive ads, since they aren't pre-screened no one necessarily knows they are appearing.

3. Let Skinner and/or the admins know.

The ads from Google are not pre-screened, but once the folks who have authority to change things are notified the ads complained about are reviewed and blocked if they are inappropriate.

I've spent all morning sending this to everyone I could think of to try and start a grassroots call for Toomey to step up and either claim this ad or denounce it.

I am trying to get the world out about an extremely ageist ad I saw online this morning.

Toomey is now running against Senator Arlen Specter as the colorful, young, full-of-life alternative to the decrepit, aged, washed-up near-death old has-been.

Whatever one thinks of either candidate's record or positions, as a senior and a registered voter in PA in Northampton County, Toomey's home district, and as a human being, I find this kind of political advertising disgusting.

And as a result would never consider voting for Pat Toomey whoever he was running against.

He should be ashamed of himself for going this route.

I would like to challenge Mr. Toomey to come out and publicly either state that he fully supports the message of this ad or decries it.

You can be sure that I will do my utmost to contact every press outlet I can think of with letters and emails to that end.

I hope I can count on you to join me in this effort.

Toomey is almost as big a slimeball asswipe as Santorum. All he needs is a mansion in VA and a small shack in PA that he never spends a night in and he'll be a clone. Cantor is TRYING to be a Santorum clone, but he could have a "WIMP" tattoo on his forehead and nobody would notice a difference.

The ads are pay-per-click (I'm assuming that they're Google ads, but I can't see them, and Google ads are always PPC), so go ahead and click on it.
