License Plates May Be Used As Ad Space
Idea Being Floated In Florida Legislature

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- A Mickey Mouse license plate courtesy of Walt Disney World? How about a tag emblazoned with McDonald's golden arches, Nike's swoosh or, maybe, a Coke or Pepsi logo?

That's the latest moneymaking idea being floated in the Florida Legislature in these hard economic times.

Mike Fasano, chairman of the Senate Transportation and Economic Development Appropriations Committee, said Friday that he's asked his staff to develop a piece of legislation that would let corporations put their logos on Florida license plates for a price.

"Unique concept, isn't it?" Fasano said. "People could choose from an array of logos from Disney World to Pepsi to IBM, the list goes on. ... People might want to have a choice of saying, 'Hey, that sounds like a lot of fun."'

It also could save them money.

1. If some corporation wants to pay ME, the driver, I might consider allowing them to put a logo

on my plate.

I'd ultimately refuse, unless it was a Leftie or Green corporation.

But how can a state force citizens to act as billboards?

Why not privatize bridges and roads?

If that happens there needs to be drivers willing to place stickers on their vehicles that slam the advertiser.

To help pay for education; charge the corporations for law enforcement and let the supply the police uniforms with their logos. The possibilities are endless!

If the state wants to put advertisements on a license tag and continues to avoid a state income tax, I'd say, "Go for it".

12. that is in practice already. If you live in an area where a co. wants to target potential customers

they just might pay you to get their logo on the side of your car.

But this means you get paid and it's your choice.
