Now here's a really interesting twist...
In another thread, poster dchill remarked that he was "So Claude Rains" about the latest Vatican Sex Scandal (capitalizations intentional). I would presume that he was referring to the line in the film Casablanca in which claude Rains is Shocked SHOCKED that gambling is occurring in the club, right before he's handed his winnings.

Excellent turn of phrase, dchill. Now here's a fascinating sidebar:

Claude Rains married a pianist named Agi Jambor, who was the artist-in-residence at Bryn Mawr College. My parents were guests at the wedding here in Philadelphia. After the ceremony and whatever small reception, my parents went out somewhere and a very very few hours later, they saw Mr. Rains get into his car, and leave the Bellevue Stratford Hotel on Broad Street, and whatever happened or didn't happen in that room, Agi and Claude never ever had anything to do with each other again.

It was said that the opening scene of The Young Philadelphians was loosely based upon that incident.

So there you go...

If I were James Burke, I'd have demonstrated the Connections and come full circle re: The Vatican.

Off topic. Born in Bryn Mawr and most my family is from the main line. As a kid I cut lawns in Penn valley. My cousin was a dentist in that area and started, what was called at the time the "Go patrol" traffic reports. Sold the company to ARCO. I laugh about meeting Frank Rizzo at his funeral. Lived in Medford and my wife worked in the dental field (she still does) in Marlton. We left that area over 20 years ago and still miss it though we have a house in Avalon and still get our cheesesteaks and hoagies in the warmer months.
Just have to say your post always bring back good memories. Thanks.
