We still had courts, libraries, roads, schools, parks, police and firemen. On an international level his policies sucked, but we still had a civilized society. We got to disagree and no one shot us. We weren't rounded up and sent to camps by roving private militia.

We didn't like what he did but we did have the opportunity to organize and vote.

The status of Haiti is the result of hundreds of years of imperial forces keeping the people poor and uneducated. I know history isn't a big subject for many, but if you don't know the history it might be best to avoid posting some snarkey, useless comment.

12. Here's my point

A lot of people are against politicians, as if you can have a democracy without them. If someone hates government, how are the countries doing without one. if some people think that religion, any religion, should dominate a government, then I point to Iran. There are examples of what happens when those opinions succeed in the world, and I try to point them out.
