The Senate Foreign Relations Committee holds a hearing on the nomination of John Negroponte to be deputy secretary of State.



Make no mistake, this is a demotion for the Ambassador of Death, because he wouldn't drink the kool-aid on Iran. See, he prefers poor brown people to die slowly at the hands of death squads. Not so keen on nuking them

1. I would not be so keen on assigning to him such a simplistic

motive. He, although the epitome of evil, is not a stupid man and there is no way he would sit quietly and idly by and allow himself to be neduced in rank or power.
There is bigger game afoot. The trick is to tease it out and, while exposing it to the light of day, explore solutions to counteract his ambitions.
