The gov't gives you a phony pie chart showing that some 53 percent of its expenditures goes to "Social Security" and "Medicare."

Big problem: ALL of Social Security is paid for by a dedicated tax (FICA), so that's not part of the income tax expense. Much of Medicare is also paid for by a dedicated tax.

So when you roll out those entitlements, what's left is mainly WAR TAXES which are paid for by income taxes.

This is the true pie chart for income taxes:

1. I don't resent that 18% that goes to pensions and the VA system
or even the PX stores that so many retired military folks depend on. I do resent the hell out of that other 36%.

This country is finished if we don't get a good part of it off our backs.

2. Me neither. But I do resent military guys who "retired" at age 47
drawing a full pension turning around and getting full-time jobs and earning another pension to retire on WHILE BITCHING AND MOANING ABOUT UNION WORKERS AND THEIR BENEFITS.

I resent the hell out of that.

4. You should see the "double dippers"
Retired military that go on to get a civilian job working for the Federal government! They are highest on the lists to get a Federal job being they are in fact retired military.

This sets them up to collect yet another Federal pension!

Talk about resentment, I've been there and done that! I worked for the Federal government for 10 years and that was a wasted effort. :(

:grr:

:kick:

6. I'm not against double or even triple dippers per se. I'm against folks doing well
by using advantages in the system who don't want their fellow Americans to do well too . . .

15. Yeah, double dipping has to stop.
If they want to work, then their military pension has to be prorated by the income they're earning either through working or through another pension.

5. I really wish we had a law with ten choices of where we want our
tax money to go that we could check in boxes on our tax returns. Then we would have a vote of sorts and I think you would see the military spending go down considerably. Much military spending is on defense contracts for outdated and useless hardware and munitions and not enough for the boots on the ground during service and after, especially for veterans.

17. Must have been one of the many pro war pro military cheer leaders here.
I'm a dem but I hate the military right now and I will never side with military and war lovers. It would be another thing if they were actually defending this country ...and I mean this soil ...right here ...in the USA. 911 was and is just an all out MIC rip off excuse for what should have been a police action. The MIC is taking part in disaster economics and is doing it as the destruction of life as we knew it in the USA (UCA) goes on.

13. End the empire. Bring all of the troops home and audit the Department of Defense. nt
Also change its name back to the "Department of War."
