For those who have problems with links, republican senator bob corker is using all his senatorial powers to block legislation that would adequately regulate the pay-day loan industry. One of these companies has given the sum mentioned over the years to corker's campaign. Of corker wouldn't have this clout if Democrats weren't so hell-bent (and I mean hell-bent) on courting and then rolling over for republican approval.

that leads to jobs in the industry or lobbying jobs related to said industry that is the true pay off for those in Congress.
