MN Gov. Tim Pawlenty diverted veterans funding to faith-based office
Sen. Don Betzold, DFL-Fridley, told City Pages’ Matt Snyders on Thursday that Gov. Tim Pawlenty has diverted funds from the “Support Our Troops” license plate program to his Governor’s Office of Faith-Based Initiatives, an office that works to connect religious organizations with state funds.

Betzold says that $30,000 from the license plate program was supposed to go to the Department of Military Affairs and the Department of Veterans Affairs, but instead paid for a position at the faith-based office which is part of the Pawlenty’s office. The funds, writes Snyders, “by law, were supposed to go to the Department of Military Affairs and the Department of Veterans Affairs.”

as a potential running mate for McCain. I wonder if this diverting of veterans' funding to faith-based office has anything to do with him continuing to suck up to the RR in preparation for a future Presidential run in 2012?

edit to fix word

9. I think he has that prez ambition, but moves like this won't help
once the general public gets a whiff of what he's done. He's pretty bone-headed on lots of issues.

29. In the reality based community, I agree. Stupid moves like this aren't gonna help him.

And you are so right, babylonsister ~ he is pretty bone-headed. Unfortunately, I think we all know too well (on edit, after 8 long years of Bushco), though, that being bone-headed doesn't preclude one from becoming POTUS. :D

10. I told you all he tried to steal money from the Iron Range Miners
because they had about 93M. They raised that money themselves. It is and will be used for the benefit of the miners and the people in the communities on the Iron Range. The members of the committee wanted to know how in the hell he thought he could just waltz right in and take private money away from this committee for his own private use. He won't get it, these guys are a tough bunch. But this is the kind of guy he is. And the people of Minnesota put their foot down and told him he can't use state funds for his stadium.

19. No. Pawlenty hates the troops. He has a record of non-support. Like said earlier
he attempts to steal money often.
He also is very very dangerous because he has a super pompous attitude as if he makes all the rules and does what he wants. I hope the media covers this and I hope he gets booted out from here. He can take Bachmann with him too!
