13. You can hide all that crap. Mouse over to the right of posts about Farmville, etc and
choose the "hide" option. That way you can still read posts by the person without having to wade through their stupid Farmville/Mafia/Yoville/Whatever crap.

5. I mostly use it to keep track of...
what family members in other states are fighting about this week.

I also post liberal and progressive news articles to irritate my Republican and conservative Democrat "friends."

7. I too have friends and associates all over the world,...
Face Book helps keep contact. I am very careful what and how I post things. There are some annoying things about it, but there are more benefits than demerits....so I use it. It's particularly good for professional contacts.

8. You guys/girls should look at both Skype and MagicJack (VOIP) for phone calling...
I have both and they are awesome to keep in touch, and cheap.

23. True, but they are for more committed relationships
Skype and MagicJack are more for deeper more committed things. I've found it's easier to keep contacts up with FB.....there are always those contacts you like but don't really have much to talk about, but you are interested in what they are doing and how they are.

19. No facebook. I find facebook lame. I'm on myspace where the wild things are.
Edited on Fri Mar-12-10 12:54 AM by Edweird
My activity level there has fallen to zero lately. I've been a hermit and spent my time working on pulling my life back together. I'll be social again in the not too distant future.

20. I signed up for Facebook a while ago and find it very confusing
and too busy. I rarely post but do check out the pages of family and friends now and then. I don't think I've received any real benefit from my limited participation.

I initially signed up to see of I could find old H.S. and college friends. I did, but have done nothing. I wish there was a way of setting it up so you don't get the names of friends of friends popping up all the time. Maybe there is but I don't have time to go figure that out.

Just check what I need to check and off I go.

22. I use facebook for email communication and that's it.
No status updates, no silly games, etc.

And I closed my wall to ALL posters. No one can post on my wall.

Status updates and wall postings drive me crazy for some reason so I don't pay attention to them.
