There's a lot to packaging when you're talking about Americans - unfortunately.

Republicans have been conning them into voting against themselves - we need to sell them into voting for themselves.

Kucinich is too well-known an entity - people automatically think of him as "far-left" or "liberal" or "woo-woo" etc. Obama did well because he was seen as shiny and new - we just need a less corporate, more progressive, shiny new candidate next time.

get him elected but now that he is President it's up to him to show that he supports us, the people. I'm not seeing that so unless there is a turn around I won't be able to support him next time around. It's up to him right now not me.

100% and I have no problem with that. I want single payer, universal health care in this country, that is probably not going to happen in my lifetime. I want all troops pulled out of foreign soil and shipped stateside, that will never happen. I want all sorts of stuff that I know isn't going to happen.

Most of all I want people in government who believe that good governance is a worthwhile pursuit. I believe Mr Obama and most of the members of his administration fit that bill. I believe that he and his administration are working to repair the damage that misguided conservatism brought out government. For proof just go to the White zHouse web site and look up the first ten or so executive orders that were issued by this administration.

I'm honestly asking this, because the way I think of support is that the % I support someone is the same % I agree with what they're doing, or not doing. In that way, I frankly don't support anyone 100% and have trouble grasping how anyone can.

and any republican since Lincoln. He is not a progressive in my eyes, but he is activly and rabidly hated by the really right, which gives him a lot of points in my book. He is obviously

Because he well and truly did. Look at what Grayson did with little time to do it in and without the clout the White House with a mandate would have carried back in July or August of last year on Health Care. Obama blew it with all those resources. He lied and lied and underwrote the Bush torture policies and the suspension of Habeas Corpus with a binding supreme court decision. He keeps funneling money to the big banking chains and does not seem to support meaningful regulation there while people's credit is abused and their houses foreclosed. In a burst of short sighted idiocy he adopted cutting spending which has already been slashed to the bone instead of taxing the rich, causing more misery for the people who supported his election.

He sent a huge number of troops to Afghanistan and widened the war to include Pakistan and Yemen. The troops are still in Iraq and so far no binding time line for their removal has been adhered to. I also notice that he is giving aid to the government of Iran. This would be the government which engaged in election fraud and killed its own people when they went out to protest. Iran has been right on the tipping point of rejecting the old government and choosing a more democratic system. This will probably help to kill that, because these funds are not going to the protesters. They are going to the entrenched and system which has been in power since Carter was trying to free the hostages.

To say it plainly, the only thing Obama could do at this point to make me happy is to resign and let someone able and competent assume office. I am going to be looking for another Democratic candidate in the 2012 primary for sure. I want to do everything I can to keep Obama a one term president. He is nothing more than a stalking horse for the Republican agenda.

I notice that you have framed your poll so that there is only one "yes" option and several "no" options which is a way of splitting the no votes and making it look like the yes votes are in a large majority. That is manipulative. I think a straight up no or yes with the responders stating their own qualifications would have been more meaningful, and certainly more fair.

Clinton did a lot of things during his two terms of office, that I disapproved of, for example, the repeal of the Glass-Steagall Act, and NAFTA, but I did not vote for BOOSH to indirectly exact my revenge on him by not voting for his VP Gore. Obama deals with many Blue Dogs in Congress who nip at his heels, while the GOP uses liberal/progressive dissatisfaction at Obama's action or inaction on issues that they are are passionate about, as a tool to magnify them into anger and unhappiness with EVERYTHING he and his administration does or doesn't do. It is still too early in his term, and I will wait another year before I might begin to think that another democratic candidate would be a better party option in '12.

For example witness Boehner stating that "we" (meaning all US voters), do not want a government "takeover" of healthCARE, when it is primarily our concern about health INSURANCE coverage, HCR missing a public option, and single payer.
