Talking about insensitive teachers today |
|
I wore hearing aids during elementary school..not behind the ear or all in the ear hearing aids, but I had a full body aid with a harness and wires running down to my belly.
I had a third grade teacher who would yell at the boys for not listening..she would yell at them..."Did you not hear me? I told you twice!! Do you need a HEARING AID?!?!"
She would say that right in front of me with my body aid and all. She was elderly so that might have something to do with it, but still!!! It used to creep me out when she would say that.

I write a check once a month for rent and that takes everything I got to get it right. I wish I could write but I pretty much keyboard everything.

2. When my son was in first grade he was a worrier to the point of being obsessive. |
|
At the end of the year the teacher gave each child a special award. He got the 'Worry Wort Award'. WTF, did the stutterer get the Stutterer of the Year? Teachers are just people and they don't realize that sometimes they cause pain. That's what moms and dads are for, to make it all better. I hope that you got good hugs at home.

5. My seventh grade math teacher was a real piece of work. |
|
He introduced himself on the first day by bragging that he could beat up any one of us in class, and then went on to complain that his children didn't like him (gee, I wonder why). Soured me on math until I reached graduate school.

6. I had a teacher force me to put dry laundry detergent in my mouth |
|
In First grade because I told another student to shut up because she was saying mean things. The student went and told on me. I wasn't the only one. She would send the children out to get the soap and when they came back she would take and grab their chins to force their mouths open and either scoop the detergent in or scrape the bar of soap along the bottom teeth.
The horrible taste is damn near impossible to get rid of for hours and hours.
