... when the Dems in Congress would try to get a few nickels for Federally funded extended unemployment benefits for the long term unemployed during a recession while under a Republican controlled Congress and administration?

I can remember times when I would be out of work and out of unemployment benefits for a couple of months before the bastards would finally get around to giving us a 13 week Federal unemployment extension under Reagan.

Rush Limbaugh and the others from the right wing were screaming we were all welfare recipients who didn't want to work. And the cable and print media wasn't much better back then.

Anyone else remember those days?
