Letter to editor I wrote re: health care

In a letter from the "Americans for Choice in Medicine" the writer used the disingenuous comparison of health care and food. For one thing Americans aren't paying ever increasing premiums to giant food funding corporations who like insurance companies admit they make more money by limiting coverage.

Secondly no one is advocating a government takeover of health care or even insurance. If anything this bill doesn't go far enough and give insurances competition by allowing people unhappy with private insurance to buy into a Medicare type option.

We don't want government controlled health care, we just don't want insurance dominated health care where costs keep increasing as insurance company increased 55% since last year. It should be about health of people, not wealth of corporations.

more. The right-wingers & tea-baggers are dominating the media. We need to do everything we can to show that the MAJORITY of Americans want a public option and decent, universal healthcare. Thanks for contributing to getting our voices heard!
