Contrary to the Republicans' forecasts, I would imagine that there will be less noise, not more when this happens. It is amazing how much advertising the health insurance companies have paid for in the last year - and how much Republican interest groups have paid.

Much as I am tired of the rollercoaster this has been, I think those of us in districts of the Representatives (or Senators) on the fence need to make those last calls and encourage anyone they know (in the same district) that calls or emails may be important. The Republicans have been tracking these same people and pushing people to call.

Then hopefully the high tension on the left - all the anger against Kucinich and all the anger from the Bold Progressives (even this weekend against Nancy Pelosi, who certainly does not deserve it) will likely end. Now the cable stations might be hurt by the loss of all ad revenue - but that will likely be replaced by more smearing of the climate change scientists.

It seems so SIMPLE to us, and although I realize that it's pretty damn complicated 'back there', they're making it way TOO complicated!

Grayson's Medicare Buy In seems heaven-sent. Obvious, logical -- why the hell hasn't someone done this before? I really don't know how anybody could vote against it and face their constituents. Even the tea baggers love their Medicare, and it wouldn't be paid for by tax money, so... :shrug:

When you hear of a day they plan to call a vote, then you know for sure they have the votes. A whip rarely will come out and say which way things are going if the vote is close either up or down...not to spook away any supporters.

21. It was the Progressive Caucus that got the PO in the House version

and it is the Progressive Caucus in the House that is saving us from this bill. One of the few groups fighting for us, they don't get enough credit.

From what i've seen (several media outlets have "whip counts"), the Dem leadership is between 5-10 votes short. BUT there are about 20 outstanding. Bring home half of those and we have a winner. I would not vote against that happening.

If you're into the markets, intrade has it at 64% to pass, and rising.

I don't like this legislation. I would not be unhappy to see it scrapped and to have them start over again with something like Grayson's medicare for all. I don't see anyone benefiting from this bill, but there has been so much back and forth that I have no feeling at all for how things are going to go.

They've been waiting for the CBO on the reconciliation measures and they still need to go to committee on Monday for markup.

I agree they don't yet have them...but I believe they will have them by next weekend.
