Peter Graves has reportedly been found dead in his Los Angeles area home. The actor was 83.

A source told the Los Angeles Times that he apparently died of natural causes.

Graves stared in "Mission: Impossible" and "Airplane!"

James Arness was his brother, I seem to recall. It's one of those fuzzy memories that may not be true.

Graves played the very cool, silver haired leader of the Mission Impossible team, too.

on TV and My Friend Flicka was just one of them, along with Rin Tin Tin, the Cisco Kid and Leave it to Beaver (which my kids thought was a total hoot and actually loved!)

It would be interesting to see how some of the old morality and story telling stacked up to todays...TV lessons? for childrens programming.

They were good values actually. (another nostalgic smile)

Really good actors in the early shows.
