final that she forgot the words to her song. Simon comforted her and had her come back later and try again, and she got through her song fine the second time.

21. This youtube video was posted by someone with a truly

nasty attitude about the little girl, but is is a complete video of her performance when she forgot the words, and then also of the attempts of everyone to comfort her. The child's mother begged them to let the child start over, but the show was on a tight schedule, so there was no time. Then, at 4:04 into the video, SIimon says, "I don't care how we do it, but somehow we will find the time." He also said something like, "When you are on, you are brilliant and everyone deserves a chance."

He was really very sweet to her.

She hits those notes so effortlessly, not even showing a vein or a neck arch.

I cannot imagine the show would not have checked it out by now, but it just looks unusual to me.

The youtube one where she ends up crying has sound problems where her mouth is clearly not in synch with her voice. Yikes. Glad I kept looking.

20. Nope. The transfer to recording media added some fault.

I saw three, one I described earlier. One had her voice not following her lips by a second's delay -- that happens. The last one was convincing enough.

Call it heightened cynicism by way of reading too much politics.
