8. Well the wind might not have been as bad, but the amount of rainfall in Lowell

was more than I've seen before. Spent most of yesterday cleaning water out of a basement that's never seen more than a minor trickle of moisture before. I'm going to leave work early today to go work on it some more.

I had to go to 3 stores yesterday to find a wet/dry vac to get the water out of the basement. The most water we have had previously was a couple of little puddles. This time is was more than an inch in some places. I think we are going to put a sump pump in so that it never happens again. We seem to be getting these 100-year storms every 2 years or so now!

That hasn't happened for years, since the sealing on the basement was repaired. As I write this, it is STILL raining heavily outside. This is a bizarre storm, very far from average. The wind gusts seem less this morning, but with the soil so soaked, trees are easier to push over.

and there were a lot of trees down. We even saw one that missed the house, but got the car in the driveway.

near me. I am NE of Philly and this was some strange weather.

The air would turn completely white the gusts were carrying so much water in them. There were so many trees & power poles down that it was extremely dangerous driving in these conditions - worse than driving in a blizzard for me.

Many, many people I know are pumping their basements during this new, current storm which is still howling today! The wind is so strong, it's literally temporarily stopped the blower in my air conditioner that I use to circulate air in my house. I'm so glad I got the tree guy in last week - way too many trees weakened from previous storms had 'hangers' on them (large hanging branches.)

25. i lost about 200 sq ft of shingles thanks to the storm

and electricity for 8 hrs.

fortunately my roofer is doing the repairs for free since the shingles are less than a year old

and into the neighbor's yard. I'm hoping the old willow tree in her backyard holds up. The rain and wind aren't supposed to end here until tonight.
