Obama takes Dennis for a ride on Air Force One
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/03/15/obama-brings-dennis-kucin_n_499313.html

...
The White House pool reporter on the trip did not get an immediate readout of any conversation between Kucinich and Obama. Though accompanying the two on the trip was Phil Schiliro, the president's liaison to Congress.
...
The aide did seem somewhat buoyed by recent news that a group of anti-abortion lawmakers seemed to have lessened their opposition to the bill. And there was, likewise, a bit of optimism that the concerns expressed by Hispanic and conservative Democratic lawmakers would dissipate as the House vote approached.

If Obama is successful in turning the Stupak bloc into yes votes, Dennis is going to be in a very awkward position. I would love to have been a fly-on-the-wall during that meeting on AF1.

2. It's been so long since we've seen anyone actually fight for us
we don't even recognize it when we see it.

14. And therein lies the tale.
Kucinich is about to stand up for what he believes is right and I predict he will be skewered for it.

18. oh for pity's sake. your middle name must be hyperbole
Dennis is not the only member of Congress who fights for the people. And I don't need reminding to know what that looks like.

16. So would I.
Obama is slick and he knows it. But so does Kucinich -- who is not about to be swayed by Obama's rap. Tragically, the public is far too easily swayed by it thus Kucinich's effort will be misunderstood.

5. Gee, what might have happened had Obama fought this hard for the PO
It is quite stunning how this debate has turned from the reality of workable bill that includes a PO to you had better bend-over right quick for Big Insurance or God will start killing truckloads of puppies and kittens and Obama might be harmed politically by breaking his deal with Big Insurance. Only in America!

25. Most telling is who gets leaned on and who gets
the rewarded.

The President gives to the conservatives and takes from the liberals.

9. Look, the HCR bill isn't perfect. But the insurance reform alone is worth the cost
And if you don't agree, you must not have read the bill
