The word filibuster does not appear in either the Constitution or the US Senate Rules.
The filibuster actually refers to the set of circumstances that would occur if a Senator theoretically stood at the base of the Senate well and never gave up speaking.
In fact cloture is not, strictly speaking, ending debate either.
Cloture simply puts in the process to begin ending debate.
