Do you HAVE TO support President Obama to be a DUer??? I used to. Does that count? How long should we be willing to wait before campaign promises made by Obama are kept? I've been waiting over a year. Do you think I should wait longer? How much longer? Why does arne duncan hate teachers and their unions? Is arne related to Herman Munster? There is a resemblance you know. C'mon, admit it. Am I a "bad" DUer? Why is that? If I promise to be good and never doubt a thing this administration does, can I be reinstated as a :good" DUer? I fucked up when I was 18 and voted republican (reagan). I never read a damn thing and rarely watched the news, so I voted on name recognition only. I do admit that was stupid, but it never happened again and I learned my lesson. Do I deserve forgiveness or not? . . .

Just putting my thoughts down. Let's see if this works or not. . . .

What I think we are bothered by are the ones here who wanted him to fail, who are bitter from the primaries, who are really too far left for even the left wing of the democratic party.

I wonder if a lot of people failed to see beyond the evil Bush empire for those 8 years at how evil the congress was too, and had their Obama hopes set to high.

There is a part of me that is a little disappointed (but not surprised) that this even needs to be said. Even if you don't agree with President Obama on a number of issues, I guess I kinda thought that everyone here would consider themselves -- on some level -- to be among his supporters. Or, at very least, I didn't think that any DUer would want to deliberately use the same type of language one would expect to hear from tea-baggers and Freepers.

It is our intention that ALL substantive criticism of Barack Obama be permitted here. If you believe there are any issues on which you are not permitted to criticize Barack Obama (or any Democrat) please post in this thread and tell me the specific issue -- I will gladly address your concerns. Similarly, if anyone persists in spreading the falsehood that criticism of Barack Obama is now forbidden on DU, I believe it is not unreasonable to ask that person to please identify what substantive criticism they are no longer able to share.
