10 Things Obama Won't Tell Us (Happy Sunshine Week!)
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/03/19/10-things-obama-wont-tell_n_504950.html

President Obama's very public embrace of open government -- starting on his
first full day in office -- has been a welcome change from the regime of secrecy enforced by the previous administration.

The routine disclosure of White House visitor logs and the White House's Open Government Initiative are but two examples.

And yet the Obama administration's openness only goes so far.

In some ways, particularly when it comes to covering up the most controversial aspects of (or policies held over from) the Bush administration, this White House is as opaque as the last one.

In honor of Sunshine Week, which is a celebration of the importance of open government and freedom of information, here are 10 of the things that President Obama is keeping us in the dark about.

Vote for which ones you think are the most outrageous.

Where Did the Tarp Money End up?

We know which banks got how much TARP money -- but to this day, we still have no idea what those banks did with it. In a January report to Congress, Neil Barofsky, the Special Inspector General for TARP, wrote that after consistently refusing to require TARP recipients to report on what they did with the taxpayers’ money, the Treasury Department “recently informed SIGTARP that it has decided to undertake surveying and reporting on recipients’ use of TARP funds.” If that happens, Barofsky said, the Obama administration will finally give the American people the basic transparency they deserve in these investments.”

Was the money used on loans or stashed away? Was it used for speculation? For bonuses? If it was loaned out, who benefited?

15. How tired can you be? You never appear to refute anything, Just post about how "tiring" it might be.
Try actually refuting things, people may listen if you have more than BS.
And you may find it less tiring than the many hit and run anti-left posts of yours that lack content.

11. Naaaaaaaaaaaah.
Some play by the rules of the game, while others change the rules to suit the game they're currently playing.

13. Nevertheless, we *still* do not know exactly what happeneded to the TARP money
nor exactly what the Fed is doing. I'm off to see what the other questions are.

21. Last month's _Mother Jones_ had a great article on that very topic.
I suppose that means that even the venerable Mother Jones is "on par with" Drudge, according to some.

Live and learn.

17. Not only do we not know what happened to the TARP money,
Edited on Fri Mar-19-10 04:16 PM by truedelphi
We also do not know why Obama has failed to make good on his campaign pledge of Oct 2008 - that when he is President he will pay special attention to the TARP Bailout monies, and should it appear that the monies are not being returned to Main St in the form of loans and credit, then he will see to it that hard hitting legislation is offered up to put regulations and stipulations in place.

However during his first critical year in office, he forgot to do that, and instead merely SCOLDED the Banksters.

Oh well. He knows he can forget about the campaign pledges to We The People, as he really needs to ensure that his pledges to the Big Banksters are met.

After all, the Powers that Be control the voting machinery. And he is well aware of that fact.
