The Lounge is on my 'pay no mind' list. When a thread gets moved there, however, it'll show up on the 'Latest Threads' page, and I'll usually click on it, since it may actually be something worthwhile instead of insider jokes that mean nothing to the casual observer.

Now it's the main place I hang out. After eight years of the same arguments, sometimes you just want to hang out with other liberals and talk about non-political stuff with people who don't say "Thank Jesus and Ronald Reagan" after every sentence. :) Living in Texas, sometimes I just need contact with saner folk.

8. Tortoises can bite a stick (or bone) in half, and that's an awfully aggressive one....

I met some people who had one that size -- it was pretty young, but spawned in Africa someplace I think they said. It was supposed to grow to enormous proportions. I'm used to other kinds that take many many years to get as big as that one is.

Anyhow, I LOL'd, but if I were them I keep the dog away for the dog's safety!
