Nobody, and I mean nobody knows
how this health care reform will shake out when it passes. The Rethugs are scared shitless it will be as popular as Medicare, and they will look clueless. Lucky for them that isn't a stretch. The Dems are scared it will be as effective as the NOLA levees, and don't know whether to shit, run, or go blind. It is going to morph continually, and who knows what will actually happen.

I also don't think that people have a clue about the vote count either. I don't care what people say.
However, I wouldn't want Pelosi after me if it doesn't go through. She is very, very quiet when getting even.

1. I agree with you - completely.
<insert pithy words here>

Nothing I say will add to your words.

2. That's right. But we can bring our experience to bear and notice

that the bill depends upon insurance companies to succeed.

3. I will freely admit that I don't.
I don't even know if I should support or oppose this bill. It surpasses my understanding.

7. But aren't they also running vicious TV ads against the bill?
Surely the insurance corporations, with all their overpaid lawyers, can't be as confused as I am???

11. ...and the repukes keep blocking legislation that
they have been in favor of like "pay as you go". There is nothing logical going on here. I think the main objective is to create an Alice in Wonderland atmosphere where citizens cannot discern anything about reality except what they tell you is true.

8. The bill has little or no effect on their current profit estimates.
The main provisions of the bill won't kick in until four years from now.
Maybe they're planning even bigger than usual rate hikes this year.

18. The mandate doesn't take effect until 2014 either.
There will be no millions of new customers before then.

13. Oh yes it can. You'll be required by law to buy a for profit product
with NO rate caps and no assurance that your claims will be paid. They can raise your rates until they break you, and when you can't pay any longer they'lll tax you to make up the difference-and they don't have to cover any procedures on top of it all.

17. this bill isn't about health care. it's about health insurance
Think of it as HIPAA 2. The Health Insurance Profitability Acceleration Act.

Millions of people will now be forced to buy health insurance.

In return for the dollars extorted out of them, they will get....nothing.

I've had health insurance. When I was septic, they wouldn't even pay for a CBC. They said it was "all in my head." My dentist saved my life. I paid for my "health care" twice. Once to the insurance company. The second time out of pocket.

IT. IS. A. SCAM.

Obama didn't even hold out for the antitrust laws. They can rack up charges as high as they want, buy each other out, eliminate all pretense of "competition." And we will be forced to pay.

I only hope the penalty isn't too high.

14. This I can't argue with
I'm not willing to climb on the bandwagon just yet. Today, specifically, people are acting like this is great, well, not great, but acceptable, well, not really acceptable but something that we can start with, well............

And the truth is, none of us knows.

to do with themselves.

I have a few suggestions ........

They all could follow Rush to Costa Rica
