So if this "health care" bill passes, much of it doesn't kick in until four years from now.

FOUR FUCKING YEARS FROM NOW.

I wonder how many people will die in those four years for lack of health care insurance?

Not to sound all "me me me", but I hope that this helps some people, but it doesnt do much if anything for me.

I was holding out for some kind of Socialist healthcare plan, like single payer, or Medicare for all.

35 years old, self employed contractor, cannot afford private insurance, have no pre-existing conditions.

I'm so sick of the HCR talk and talk and talk. I'm afraid the Dems have spent tons of political capital and all they did was give the repukes something to run on for the next two or three election cycles.

I don't think they are ready. The regulatory system needs time to adapt to this massive measure.

Hence the resistance to the package by a lot of folks.

This is new/different taxation, spending, enforcement. It is a huge friggin' bill.

I honestly believe that the delay in some portions of the bill is not for CBO-score enhancement, but to create the pathways for enforcement of this thing.


The Gov't simply isn't ready to make sure that every piece of this bill is enacted properly.

This is a huge overhaul of our current system and has been met with resistance for a very long time.

However you look at it, if people are in need, in pain, or dying, four years might as well be a thousand years.

I find this foot-dragging unacceptable. I'm sorry, but I just can't comprehend your acceptance of this obvious gift to the insurance companies.

5. This reminds me of the credit card "reform"

They give these crooked companies an extended period to screw over the same consumers the "reform" is meant to help that its no help at all after their rates skyrocket before the laws take effect.

15. People aren't asking the right question: WHY four years from now? Answer:

Deal struck with corporations who know that they'll have four years to pour billions into getting congress to extend the deadline for four more years, then four more years, etc. - OR just repeal it completely while no one is looking.
