When was the last time the GOP was struggling for every last vote and actually got something passed?
I'm genuinely curious to see if there is a historical role reversal for our current situation. Could be useful in a conversation.

I think they got 50 plus Cheney -- they got Ben Nelson (Corporate-NE) to vote for it

when they they held the vote open for 3 hours while he twisted arms to get the votes quite late at night. Normally votes in the House are open for only 15 minutes.
