As I said yesterday, by exposing these hateful people, we make at least some impact. We can't rid ourselves of the vile spew, but we can try to make a dent by getting their accounts deleted, or maybe even surprising them with a visit by the Secret Service.

UPDATE: I've just been told that the FBI and Secret Service have both been notified. Thank you.

when Bush was President. NO ONE would have gotten away with publicly calling for his assassination. Death threats against the President are still against the law, though you'd hardly know it these days.

allow open death threats against the President NOW; on Twitter, on rally signs, people wearing guns to protests...yet they ARREST DADT protesters and peace activists? Do they really believe that Civil Rights activists and pacifists are a bigger threat than those who are openly advocating the assassination of the President? Who is really in charge here?

and some very serious people devoid of any sense of humor operating them.

I've never seen that much security. There were almost as many police officers, security guards and SS as there were people.

As the blog Jezebel has reported, Soloman (Solly) Forell, apparently enraged by the impending passage of the health insurance reform bill, used his Twitter account to call for the assassination of Barack Obama, while also tweeting that since the country survived the assassinations of Lincoln and Kennedy, ‘we’ll surely get over’ this one, too.
