Pro Choice and pretty liberal, but...

I have to say, one of the things that swayed me to support Barack Obama was the article 'Judge him by his laws'. The man got death penalty reform done with the support of Republicans and the Police. You don't do that easily, or without give and take. So, in a sense, I knew I was getting a compromiser, but a man who got things done.

Well, folks. Barack Obama, our first black President, along with Nancy Pelosi, the first female Speaker and Harry Reid, unexpectedly stern white guy, is getting it done.

Health insurance reform. Starting small but there ain't no take backs. Its all forward from here.

Compromises aside, this is an historic day. I wish it were exactly what I wanted, which it's not, but I am still very proud that we did it. We did it, dammit.

It makes me sad that Teddy is not here to breathe in more history in the making, as he did so often in his great life. I'm having a Guinness for you, baby! The cause of your life is about to become part of our national fabric.
