I know it's immaterial, but Pelosi is fucking horrible at giving speeches.

I don't doubt for a second that most DUers could give a much better speech than this.

5. She is exhausted. Totally exhausted. She whipped 60 something votes by herself. |
|
I love her and she deserves some much needed rest after this.

6. It's been a long, long, long day, for her |
|
She's been under tremendous pressure and probably running almost non-stop for who knows how long. I'd cut her miles of slack, tonight.

11. Fuck - stop griping! Who cares - she's brilliant at wrangling votes |
|
And, she's gives speeches that are good enough to make it to Congress 5+ times and become the SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE!
I could listen to her all day. I prefer her style to the nonstop negativity from the likes of Boner.

...but she won't be in January. I think she knows it and may be planning to retire. She is pushing seventy.
There are statistical models out there projecting a possible 150 seat shift in the House. The whole teabagger scene in DC was apparently pretty wild this weekend. I look for Gerald Mcnerney (CA-11) to lose his seat for sure and possibly even John Garamendi who represents CA-10. Both districts are loaded with affluent Baby Boomers who attended the rallies in droves.
If what I said above happens, our political center of gravity will shift back to the south where it was before 2006. Obama will never be electable to a second term under those conditions.

...that her Maryland brogue comes out when she gets emotional.
She's polished San Francisco until she gets upset and then she's all of a sudden the girl from the old neighborhood.
