Perhaps we should have let single payer get a vote first
Perhaps we should have pushed the single payer system, then let it live or die with the vote.
We know that the GOP would have said no. We know that the DLC would have said no.

But at least it could have been debated and America could have clearly seen who was on the side of the people and who was on the side of the for profit death panel 'health' insurance industry..

14. What a great argument. Why concentrate on the issues when you got poll numbers, right?

5. Uh, WHY?
We would have lost hugely, it would have been a perceived win for the GOP, would have strengthened their propaganda, and would have confused the public.

There's no point in starting from a negotiating position even your own people don't support.

8. I guess because they are not "our own people"
I wanted to know who was on the side of the people and who was on the side of the corporations.
I wanted to know how many real democrats we have. How many are really no better then the GOP?

15. Would you really feel better if single payer failed to pass first
then we ended up with this form of healthcare reform? Because that is what would have happened.

Sometimes it's better to take Old Yeller behind the shed to put him down where little Timmy can't see it happening.
