John King started his own show today on CNN called John King, USA.
Its beginning was an extended interview with Vicki Kennedy he didn't rush it and let her answer the questions which she did with great grace.
Asked about what she did yesterday she said that she went to Arlington to tell Teddy about the vote in the House.
King then ran an extended clip of Kennedy at the convention and just let Vicki talk about it and his appearance throwing out the ball at the beginning of the Red Sox season last year (King is also from Boston) and she told how the first pitch didn't make it to the catcher and unembarrassed he went back and did it again telling his grandchildren later that's what you do. "Don't make it the first time, grab the ball and throw it again until you do".
Finally asked what she will do tomorrow when she gets a pen at the signing she was clearly overcome with emotion and almost unable to speak but managed to say that she would simply tell the President "Thank You Mr. President".
(King asked her in a pleasant way if she would be a candidate against Brown in 2012 and she said "That's not something I am thinking about right now".)
It was a beautiful moment for Vicki and a classy way to start a new program John King. Good Luck.
on edit - KO just showed a part of the interview on his show.
